February 6th - we celebrated Carnaval on 
" La tète dans les etoiles - Café Concert"

The idea came from Nathalie Petron,
writer, etnologue and manager of " La tète dans les etoiles - Café Concert" ...
Why not drumming here in Essaouira?

So we came,
The Gnawa Maalem Najib Soudani and his group
the sufi singer Abdehak Voix du Vent
 the senegalese Troupe Fall...
and me!

We made a fusion
between Gnawa traditional songs,
brazilian elements from samba, samba-reggae and afoxe
and the amazing sounds from Senegal...

drums, songs, dance, food...
....

direct from the streets!
from the sacred to the popular....
smiles, tears, emotions, dreams...
colours together....

DE VOUS A NOUS

Les Faubourgs de Babel Véronique Renard & Indiana Améziane Présentent :

"DE VOUS A NOUS,  une récolte de nos mémoires à  travers chant".  Des souvenirs glanés ici et là,  des petits bouts de vie confiés,  mis en musique, nous éclairent sur  une vision :  tendre, complexe, fugitive, paradoxale  et singulière de notre humanité. Ce projet -  porté par la Boîte à Ressort -  voit le jour grâce à la démarche  croisée de deux compagnies  qui ont à coeur de créer des passerelles  entre les générations,  des ponts entre vous et nous. Un voyage à travers temps,  un répertoire où composition  et chanson Française -  Damia, Piaf, Fernandel,  Loic Lantoine, Juliette - cohabitent de 1930 à nos jours. + infor: www.babelcie.com Crossing paths, inspirations, Languages, cultures... France, Morocco...Brasil January 2016, we were playing music, talking about memory here, in Essaouira....Morocco. Here, Indiana and Véronique, invited me, the sufi musician  Abdelmalak Benhamou, and  the american  trompetist Amanda to join  on this adventure... On this version, we did two presentations, one on january 14th at the  Français de Essaouira, and a second one at  "La Tète dans les étoiles - Café Concert", january 15th, 2016.
